This is a little story behind my passion for cartography.
I was not always surrounded by maps that I admire and collect, as I do now. But I have carefully chosen each atlas and map I would have used. One day, I needed to create a map.
A fabulous quote almost perfectly describes the beginning of my story.

In my case, it’s not about a book. Instead, I wanted to present a map that had not been made yet, so I decided to make it myself, although I had no idea what cartography meant and how maps were made. I only had a passion for design and drawings. That curious child then spent two years learning how to make digital maps on his own. In the meantime, it was decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Cartography when that time would have come.
I started a career in Cartography during my studies and now I work as a Cartographer at Esri Romania. I am also an Editor for Maplines, the magazine of the British Cartographic Society.
My biggest passion is to illustrate our world through maps. I like to make maps that tell stories and share feelings. I often spend my time writing or reading about maps. When I’m not mapping, I travel or enjoy moments with my family and friends. I am also a lover of the sea, and I spend many weekends admiring the seascapes.
